In Store signing Saturday 11.30-1.30!
Local author Alison Sampson will be hanging out at Paperbarks this Saturday to sign copies of her book "Shards Of Ice". Gleaned from years of interaction with convicted Murderer and Ice Addict Normie, she has compiled her findings on the case that put him away and the man himself. This isn't a book that will help with addiction-or a good news story for that matter. It will show you what can happen if you follow the icy highway.

11th Sept 2017 - School Talk at Carmel Christian College

Had the most rewarding experience of my publishing journey on this day. I was invited by Chaplin, Miranda Leijser, from Carmel Adventist College, to attend a chapel meeting and talk to the students about ‘Shards of Ice’. Georgia Grace, conducted a short interview and then opened the floor for questions. This was a huge challenge for me, talking to such a large audience, but it is what I have been aiming at since publication so could not withdraw simply because my fear got the better of me. My hope has always been to get the story into the schools and into the hands of our kids, so that their choices for their future would not be tarnished by this terrible drug. I was rewarded by a flood of questions, thankyou’s from the kids after, and even a couple of them waiting to talk to me one-on-one. A would-be writer who I encouraged with all my heart to never give up on her passion, and a young man who smiled and told me that I had inspired him and given him hope for his own personal story where Ice was involved. I was truly humbled. If I made a difference to only one student today, then it’s all been worth the journey. I live in hope that those who didn’t understand ‘why’ might one day see ‘why’ stories such as these can impact so greatly on those who need our guidance the most.
7th & 8th Dec 2017

I had a busy couple of days touring around the Great Southern area of Western Australia this week. I stopped in at Williams and Kojonup to donate books to the towns libraries and took an extended driving break to chat to a few of the locals about the ever-present meth problems in the town. It was great to see so many people turn up to talk to me about my book and my publishing journey.
The next day I visited my old school at Mount Barker - its grown a bit since I was there 36 years ago. Deputy Principal, Leanne Prior gave me a tour of the college and then introduced me to a couple of classes of Year 10 students. We talked for an hour with the kids about meth and they asked me some great questions about writing the book and my tumultuous publishing and media journey as a first time book author.
My final stop was North Albany Senior High School in Albany where I dropped off a few more books for their library.
So wonderful to see so many passionate people willing to help fight this epidemic.
